Our Country is Divided.
The only way past this breakdown of good faith is through spaces that foster open discourse, truth, and consensus.
Using the Atlantic's unique position as a politically independent journal, we’ll bring together all perspectives to discuss today’s pressing topics. If we’re serious about changing minds, then it’s critical that we start meeting in the commons.

The Commons
The Atlantic will moderate bi-monthly, in-person gatherings to create constructive dialogue and understanding around the nation’s most partisan topics.
Incentive
To encourage participation, anyone who comes to our commons will receive the latest issue of the Atlantic, along with a special edition commemorative sticker.
Locations
We’ll partner with local libraries and museums to tailor discussions to communities and highlight third spaces already available to the public.
